Enough Negativity, Here Is Why London Is Great!
So often I read about how London is a busy place, full of ruthless business people who don’t want to help you find your way, and so expensive that it’s remarkable that anyone would actually choose to live there. And that makes me sad. As a man who has lived in London all his life, working on the markets and selling fruit and veg, I thought it was about time that someone stood up for the place and told the world about how great it truly is. Buckle up, here are my reasons why London is great. 1) London is great because, well, it is the capital, is it not? And this business about us being unfriendly folk, well that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll agree with you that the tube is a different story, but don’t tarnish us all with the same brush because a lot of Londoners do have time for newcomers. Venture out to the markets and have a chat with us while buying a pineapple and I guarantee that you’ll leave the market with the same opinion. 2) London is great because it has the Thames; and also, it actually does have a lot of easily accessible green space, you just have to know where to look. Have a butcher’s at a map if you don’t believe me. There are places to go on walks and within about twenty minutes you can pretty much be somewhere that seems completely untouched by the outside world. Getting around is easy enough by taxi, bus, tube or train, but if driving around why not consider something environmentally friendly like an insight hybrid? 3) Where else but in London can you find such a mixture of people? You have us market traders, and students, and stockbrokers…all that and then you have the attractions and the museums and the like. Have a look online if you’re in need of inspiration; even better, befriend a Londoner and ask them to show you about the place! Some places are even completely free to visit, and if you ask me you can’t really beat that.
